The idea
A theme park sells anticipation. Instead of an image carousel, this page starts high above the valley: as you scroll, you fly through the clouds, past the falcon tower, and land in the castle courtyard between the market stalls.
What the page shows
- A 3D flight driven by scrolling, over landscape, river, forest and clouds to a castle built from a free 3D kit (Kenney, CC0). Flags and bunting wave in the wind.
- What families want to know first: height scales show at a glance who may ride alone. Plus show times, opening hours and a ticket calculator that applies the family ticket automatically.
- Directions and FAQ by car, bus and bike.
Technology
three.js with custom shaders for sky, water and clouds, two quality levels for desktop and phones, and rendering that pauses as soon as the scene is out of view. Without WebGL, with “reduce motion” or without JavaScript, the page shows an illustrated opening and all content. three.js and the fonts are served from the site itself; there are no third-party requests.
What a comparable project costs
For a website with a 3D scene of this scope I estimate €7,000 to €12,000, net. The price mainly depends on:
- whether 3D models from a kit are enough or need to be modelled from scratch; custom models cost extra
- the length and detail of the camera flight and the number of scenes
- performance targets on older phones and the number of test devices
- content such as a ticket shop integration, an events calendar or additional languages
Hosting, domain and ongoing maintenance are not included and can be offered separately.
